VOLUNTEERS' STORIES

"Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless."

For two weeks, I consistently set aside a portion of my allowance so I could afford to have a couple of tarpaulins printed for our imbestigadora Heidi Mendoza hehe. As a college student staying in a boarding house, this was definitely an added expense, one that some might consider a burdensome. And will I ever regret it? NEVER!

What I see is the bigger picture. Imagine having a senator like Heidi Mendoza, someone who stands firmly for what is right, who relentlessly fights against corruption, and who meticulously scrutinizes every peso in our national budget to make sure that it serves the people. The value of having someone like her in the Senate goes far beyond the money I’ve set aside for these tarpaulins.

This is about investing in the future of our country. It is about making sacrifices today so that we can have leaders who are clean, competent, courageous, and committed tomorrow. Our country is beloved but troubled, and if we want change, we must be willing to do our part, no matter how small. We must be willing to make sacrifices because the tragedy of electing unfit leaders is that the greatest victims are us, the youth, who hold the future of this nation in our hands. We are the ones who will bear the long-term consequences of their incompetence, corruption, and self-serving leadership. We, whose future remains at risk, as political dynasties continue to tighten their grip on power. That’s why it is so important for us to take part in shaping a future free from corruption, free from political dynasties, and free from clownticians.

For a REVOLUTION!! ~ ‘What’s Up” – 4 Non-Blondes

Ma’am HEIDI MENDOZA, with the meager funds that she has running as an Independent for Senate 2025, kept insisting that she’ll give me some money for my troubles having driven all the way through crazy traffic from Sta. Cruz, Laguna. I, in turn kept turning her generosity down. “Ay huwag na po. Ok lang po talaga. Maliit na tulong ko po ito galing sa puso. Sapat na pong kapalit ay nakikita kong tinutuloy nyo ang pakikipaglaban sa korapsyon, nagiging boses namin kayo laban sa inhustisya, at matapang na tumitindig sa mga hamon ng mga kilalang mandarambong.”

She was deeply touched by this sentiment. We truth warriors should all support one another dahil hangad lang naman natin lahat ay maibalik ang GOOD GOVERNANCE πŸ’—πŸŒΈπŸ’—πŸŒΈπŸ’—

I volunteered for this “LOVE YOUR COUNTRY, DINNER WITH HEIDI” event for former COA Commissioner, Heidi Mendoza πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ and her bid for a seat in the Senate, because I only and wholeheartedly support those I really see and believe are fighting for our country and our people and Ma’am Heidi has a consistent and impeccable track record in public service. There are only a few good men/women left in office and we need to rally behind the true servant leaders who would fight for country, truth, justice. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

HEIDI MENDOZA truly deserves a seat in the Senate…trying to get up that great big hill of hope…for a destination πŸ‡΅πŸ‡

“Ang lahat ng ating pinagkakapaguran para sa kinabukasan ng ating mamamayan. Iisa lamang ang tugon. Labanan ang katiwalian.

At ako sa buong buhay ko, hindi lamang lumaban, tumaya at muntikan ng magbuwis ng buhay.

Ang lahat ay inaalay ko sa maykapal. Siya na po ang bahala, dahil alam ko po mahirap itong ating laban.” – Heidi Mendoza

THE FACE OF TRUST AND HOPE

The Philippines is mired in corruption, Mendoza recognizes,
β€œPeople tend to be resigned to it. But I want to get rid of the feeling that corruption is a way of life. I want people to have hope in their hearts that things will change."
